Artist’s History

Briefly, I arrived in Melbourne in 1971 and became a research neuroscientist. My career was based on an active hands-on approach to experimental work; an aspect I maintained until I retired in 2006. I have published over 100 scientific papers, reviews and book chapters in international peer-reviewed journals and have given over 60 invited Keynote lectures at international conferences devoted to medical research. During my scientific career I was visiting Research Professor at University College, London; Oxford University; University of Nagoya; Nagoya City University; University Of Arizona; University of Nevada; Stanford University.

After retiring, I started painting full time. Following advice from my friend, the artist Graham Fransella, I started a Certificate 3 course at CAE in 2009 and converted this to a Diploma of Visual Arts, which I was awarded in 2012, majoring in Painting and Sculpture.
